Terms of Use
Acceptance
By accessing the site, starting checkout, or using the generator after payment, you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy.
The service
Chess Sound converts chess games provided as PGN into digital audio (MP3 and MIDI) using automated composition on our servers. Features, styles, and output formats may change over time.
Each successful purchase grants the right to use the full generator for one generation that consumes that payment. After a successful generation tied to that payment, the entitlement for that payment is used. Further generations require a new payment, as explained on the site.
Payment
Checkout is handled by Mercado Pago (Checkout Pro or equivalent flow). Prices are shown in Brazilian Real (BRL) unless we state otherwise. Available payment methods depend on Mercado Pago and your region.
You leave our site to pay on Mercado Pago’s environment. We are notified of approval, failure, or pending status so we can unlock or deny access to the generator accordingly.
Refunds and chargebacks
The service delivers digital content (audio files) once generation completes successfully. In general, after you have successfully generated and received MP3/MIDI for a paid entitlement, that purchase is considered fulfilled and is not refundable, except where mandatory consumer law says otherwise.
If your payment is approved but generation fails because of a fault on our side and your entitlement is not used up, contact us through the Contact section on the Chess Sound homepage so we can look into it. We may restore access or, where appropriate, help with a refund or a new attempt under Mercado Pago’s dispute rules.
If you believe a charge is unauthorized or Mercado Pago allows a dispute, their procedures and timelines apply in addition to these Terms.
Your content (PGN)
You are responsible for the PGN and any text you submit. You confirm you have the rights needed to send that content for processing. Do not upload illegal content or content that infringes others’ rights.
Rights in generated audio
Subject to these Terms and successful delivery, we grant you a non-exclusive, worldwide license to download and use the MP3 and MIDI files generated from your PGN for both personal and commercial purposes (for example sharing, teaching, or projects), without owing us royalties for those files.
This license is for the specific files we generate for you; it does not grant source code, the composition engine, presets, or our trademarks beyond fair attribution if you choose to mention the tool.
Chess notation and factual game data are not copyrightable in the same way as a creative work in many jurisdictions; the expressive musical rendering produced by our software is treated here as a new work for licensing purposes as described above.
Our intellectual property
The Chess Sound name, branding, software, algorithms, user interface, and documentation remain our property or our licensors’. You may not copy, decompile, or scrape the service to recreate a competing product, except where law forbids such a restriction.
Soundfonts and third-party components
Audio synthesis may rely on soundfonts or other sound libraries distributed under open or proprietary licenses. You remain responsible for any extra obligations if you redistribute generated audio in contexts that trigger those licenses (for example certain share-alike requirements), to the extent applicable.
Disclaimer
The service is provided “as is”. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or that output will match any subjective expectation. To the extent permitted by law, we limit liability for indirect or consequential damages; some jurisdictions do not allow certain limits, in which case those limits apply only to the maximum extent allowed.
Changes
We may change these Terms or the service. Material changes will be posted on this page. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice.
Contact and governing law
Contact us through the Contact section on the Chess Sound website. Unless mandatory rules in your country say otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws of the country where the service operator is based, and disputes may be brought before the courts of that place, without affecting consumer rights you cannot give up by contract.
These Terms govern use of Chess Sound. They are written for clarity but do not replace advice from a lawyer. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
